Climate Change is a major threat to the planet and there is a lot that we can do to make a difference. Our lifestyles are driving the impacts and our governments need to hear us, the electorate.

North Coast Climate Action Group (NCCAG) is hosting this information day and will present information on a range of topics so that you too, can make a difference.

Al Gore in his documentary movie, says ‘the power is in our hands’.

A number of local businesses with energy-smart or ecologically-smart options will be present on the day with displays and information.

 When: Saturday 2nd December,  1pm – 5pm

 Where: Brunswick Heads Community Centre

South Beach Road, Brunswick,  (beside tennis courts & across the road from surf club)

What will be covered on the day will include:

1.00pm:                Energy smart steps, individuals and businesses (incl. waste reduction)

1.30pm:                Reducing energy to reign in the growth of greenhouse gas emissions

2.00pm.                Green Power – the benefits to all of us and the options available. The issues of coal.
                            Is there such a thing as clean coal?

2.30pm.                Ecologically sound steps – purchasing decisions, transport options, carbon    offsets,
                            composting, home gardens etc.

3.00pm – 3.15pm.  Break

3.15pm.                 Models of sustainability – building design, retrofitting existing homes, insulation options,
                             solar hot water systems, solar panels, Permaculture, LETS/ bartering, community
                             networking/strategies

4pm.                      Political actions – local, state, federal. Emissions trading, carbon tax, lobby groups etc.
