Byron Greens -> articles -> ferry_reserveRally to save Ferry Reserve Foreshore, Brunswick Heads
There will be a gathering at Ferry Reserve Foreshore next Sunday, 27th November at 10.30am to highlight encroachment issues and the impact of road closures by Ferry Caravan Park management. Michele & Sarah will walk, talk, discuss and answer questions about the issues and our options for retaining the foreshore as open recreational space for future generations. This may be our last chance to picnic and play on the Ferry foreshore as the “compulsory acquisition” of road reserves deadline is 29 November. There is no-one else but us to save these parks and reserves for our community!
Below are contact details and some community preferred outcomes from previous submissions for your info.
Thanks,
Michele Grant

COMMUNITY PREFERRED OUTCOME:
No support for the compulsory acquisition of road reserve lands in Brunswick Heads for inclusion within the operational area of our crown reserve caravan parks.
Terrace Reserve & Ferry Reserve river foreshore MUST remain accessible for multiple use and be maintained as open recreational space for park users, the local community and the people of NSW!
OTHER ISSUES:
No confidence in North Coast Holiday Parks Trust or Department of Lands management team who have repeatedly failed to address community concerns regarding encroachments, compliance and foreshore access including:
Proposed Plans of Management for Terrace Park include major road works and installation of services on road reserve lands and will have significant impact on remaining vegetation and amenity particularly for neighbours.
Additional cabin precincts intensive development on vulnerable foreshore lands, &
Disregards coastal policy and the potential impacts of climate change.
Car, boat and trailer parking for guests must be provided within caravan park precinct.
No overflow parking on adjoining reserves.
