Jeff Johnson Calls For New Economic Plan In Policy Statement
Ballina Shire needs a new economic plan that addresses climate change,
identifies sustainable industries, affordable housing options, and long
term sustainable jobs for locals. The new economic plan must also protect
our coastal and rural villages from OVER-development, and conserve green
corridors and public open space.
Population growth means we MUST ACT NOW to maintain and protect these open
spaces and parks for the community to enjoy, and for kids to play in. We
need more sports fields and more community infrastructure including
childrens play grounds, BBQ areas, cyclepaths, and community centres.
Now is the time to provide the community with the essential services they
are asking for: We need better roads, more cyclepaths, and greater funding
for community groups.
I am passionate about these issues and committed to working full-time to
achieving these goals. If elected I will commit myself to working
tirelessly to create a sustainable and prosperous community in Ballina, and
working alongside local people and businesses to achieve that goal.
The new motorway will increase development pressure on our rural and coastal villages as travelling times to Alstonville and Lismore are reduced. (Current and previous councils have been focused on investing rate payers money into commercial property developments).

Without Councils support, community groups cannot buy the equipment they need, or access the facilities and services that they need to continue doing the great work that they do.

On September 13th I ask B-Ward voters to give me the opportunity to do that. So if you live in the B-Ward Vote 1 Jeff Johnson, and Vote No to the
referendum question.
