Simon Richardson: Tired Of Dinosaur Politics

I'm bored with '"dinosaur politics" and I'm sure that I am not alone. Dinosaur politics is the politics of division and derision. The old thinking that to get your way you need to yell the loudest and be the most aggressive.

It is the politics of the schoolyard bully. It's all too easy to say that the Greens are only for the environment and don't care for business and the the conservatives are only for business and don't care for the environment. Attempts to find solutions for our Shire are much easier if we stop looking at things as black or white and accept that there are shades of grey.

If elected I will respond to all issues with an open mind and an open heart. I will seek to find solutions and I will speak to and treat all fellow councillors with respect and conciliation. It is time to put 'dinosaur politics' in the dustbin of this Shire's history, in the words of my students "it is so last century".
