School Teacher from Federal is Newest Greens Member on Council

The Byron Ballina Greens are proud to introduce their newest councillor-elect, Simon Richardson. Simon is a resident of Federal and is currently a secondary school English and history teacher. He has a passionate interest in ensuring a stronger voice for youth and artists in the shire.

Simon wishes to thank the voters of Byron Shire for their support.

"Now that the dust has settled, and I've caught up with some lost sleep, reality has sunk in. Reality that I belong to a group full of tireless, selfless and damn good people. Moving from booth to booth, I was amazed at the constant good spirit, and positive and respectful demeanor of volunteer and voters. I'd like to take this opportunity, as someone who has been the recipient of faith being placed in me and support being given to me, to say thank you. These two words seem pale to the intent behind them, but still,again,thank you. I will strive to reward that faith with decisions and actions that will make the greens and all those who have supported me so unreservedly, proud. "
