“Watching young people overcome their nerves and gain confidence with each performance was fantastic. Many had never performed on a public stage before.” added Mr Ebono.

9 year old Kyle Moir from Ocean Shores was the Outstanding Performer in the junior section with his polished rendition of “Are you gunna be my girl”. Kyle was clearly delighted to win a mobile phone donated by Caltex Service Station.

Justine Moroney & Lani Malu-Folau’s impressive duet of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” won the senior section, and $100 cash prize donated by Cr. Diane Woods.  Nicole Gallagher’s performance of ‘Flashdance’ took second place and $50 prize.

“Thanks to the generosity of McGregor’s Amusements and the Brunswick business community, every performer received a small gift” said Mr. Ebono.

“Marauding gangs of drunken teenagers were noticeably absent in Brunswick Heads this year” according to event organiser, Michele Grant. “Overall the kids were very well behaved and very entertaining.”

“We had a really festive, fun time marooned in the Housie Shed on New Years eve with over 100 happy, partying teenagers, thanks to a great team of volunteers, and the generous support of virtually every business in Brunswick Heads, in particular Trish & Terry McCulloch at Hotel Brunswick, Glen & Warren from McGregor’s Amusements and Craig Reid at Bruns Surf Life Saving Club.”
