The success of the Greens in the 2008 council elections across the Northern Rivers is a strong indication of the health and vibrancy of the party. The Greens party has been growing steadily over the last 15 years, in both the number of representatives and voter acceptance.

For the party to continue to grow, and to play a decisive role in setting policy directions into the future, it is necessary for new members  to join and participate.

Byron Ballina Greens is a grass roots organisation, which means that all members can have a say in the direction of debate, and the formulation of policy in local, state, and federal government. We offer members, a friendly and supportive environment, in which  to participate more actively in the decision making processes of the local community.

The Byron Ballina Greens are affiliated with New South Wales, Australian and Global Greens, which means members can participate at  State, National, and International Forums. The BBG also provides a fun, social environment,  opportunities for participating at meetings, community activism, fundraising, event management,  public speaking and participating in the electoral process. (eg election day volunteering, being a candidate etc.)
