Greens Celebrate Record Results
Greens supporters at the Mullumbimby pollling booth on Saturday

On Saturday 21st of August, All over the electorate of Richmond, Greens supporters worked hard at the booths handing out how to vote information. This short video report, shows scenes from the Mullumbimby polling station and later on the election night party at the middle pub in Mullumbimby

Joe Ebono Greens candidate for Richmond said that this was a historic result for the greens in Richmond. "It is the first time we have won a metropolitan zone." The Greens have polled 12% Nationally and 16% in Richmond.

After seeing on the television that The greens had won the seat of Melbourne, Joe made the comment that The electorate has increasingly turned to The Greens because of concerns over climate change and our progressive policies as well as the major parties engaging in "trivial dispute" during the election campaign

Joe continued,"This is a 3.6% increase nationally and almost a one percent increase here in Richmond compared to the last  election. Early counting in Richmond showed a much higher number, but this still represents 11,000 voters and is a significant acheivement. Thanks to you all for the support and hard work you have given to  Australia's fastest growing and most important political party."
